BigBand plus instrumentation: Score, 2 Alto Sax, 2 Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Flute, Clarinet, 4 Trumpet, French Horn (opt.), 4 Trombone (4th Trombone op.t Tuba), Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums. Medium Blues in the down-home tradition. A medium swinging blues that opens with a short vamp figure. The theme is stated contrapuntally leading to the first ensemble figure which is a send-off to the bass solo. Similar ensemble material is then used as a send-off for the alto solo (optional written solos are provided for both soloists). The opening vamp material is then used for the final ensemble before the restatement of the theme.
