2 C Flutes, Alto Flute. These brilliant variations were composed by Chopin in 1824. The theme is taken from the final aria of Rossini´s opera ´Cenerentola´ (Cinderella) where the heroine bids a joyous farewell to all her days spent as a house-keeper. Hurrah! In this virtuosic arrangement the tricky bits are shared between the 2 flutes, with Alto taking the lead in the slow Variation. A little less exhausting than the original, but just as much fun!
