These ensemble arrangements are very flexible and can be played by a combination of strings, woodwind and brass instruments. The scoring for each title varies slightly, but generally there are between 5 and 8 'voices', with parts for: C Instruments (Flute/Violin/Viola/Oboe); B flat Instruments (Clarinet/Soprano Sax/Trumpet); E flat (Alto Sax/Tenor Horn), plus Piano, Bass line part (Bass/Cello/Bassoon/Trombone), Timpani, Percussion. The classical transcriptions reflect the original scores, but have been simplified for first year players. The pop music arrangements include the original melody line with simple but effective harmonisations. The instrument ranges and rhythm figures are suitable for beginners.
