Duration: 8'20. In this fantastic medley, Stefan Schwalgin has used nine of Abba’s timeless hits to produce a piece, which demonstrates the wide-ranging repertoire of this timeless Swedish group. The alternating instrumentations and atmospheres guarantee a varied, sparking piece, which is certain to have your audience singing along. Includes: Waterloo; S.O.S.; Happy New Year; So Long; Money, Money, Money; Hasta Manana; Mamma Mia; I Do, I Do, I Do; Thank you for the Music.

Duration: 6'10. Adventures for Band is a work in three movements that first features the trumpet section, then the woodwind and finally the low brass. It takes the band through a short festive fanfare, a quiet central passage and a grand finale, which ends in powerful musical fireworks. A true adventure for the whole band!

Duration: 3'00. Bessarabia is an area of south-eastern Europe (modern-day Romania, Moldovia and the Ukraine) in which numerous “Shtetl,” or small Jewish towns, have been established over time. Bessarabyanke is a remarkable Yiddish themed work for concert band, composed by Sjaak van der Reijden. An ideal piece to close a concert with, or perhaps play as an encore. Includes optional parts for accordion.

From the summer blockbuster film Captain America: The First Avenger, composer Alan Silvestri has created a powerful and memorable march based on the main theme. Skillfully adapted for the concert stage by Michael Brown, here is an exciting and uplifting march for mature groups. 

This intense and emotional work was commissioned by the Indiana Music Educators Association and was premiered at the 2011 IMEA Convention with the composer conducting. Written as a gift to longtime friend of music education, Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, the piece is basically lyrical in nature with beautiful lines and colors. A brief faster section, in the words of the composer, “describes that uncomfortable time when we are desperately trying to find ourselves.”  The piece ends on a solemn yet reaffirming note, reminding us of the importance of guides and mentors along life's pathway. Duration: 7'42. Jackson 5 Medley features the catchiest hits from one of the most successful family pop groups of all time, arranged for concert band by Takashi Hoshide. Includes the songs, I’ll Be There, I Want You Back, ABC and Never Can Say Goodbye.

Duration: 4'30. In this three-part piece, Peter Kleine Schaars uses the initials of the German concert band association otherwise known as the Bund Deutscher Blasmusikverbände (BDB). With ‘B’ equating to a B flat, various themes based on this sequence of notes follow one another: a funky fanfare, a comical waltz and a soulful set in a Mowtown style. With this much variety your audience will soon be in the groove!

Combining brash and aggressive rhythmic figures along with more gentle moments and inventive textures, this impressive work by Samuel Hazo is truly a standout for advanced bands. The piece is built around a four-note motif, which is developed and expanded throughout. A middle section features more of a jazzy flavor with saxes in the spotlight accompanied by finger snaps. The rhythmic intensity returns, building towards a glorious full ensemble affirmation and bringing this exciting work to a powerful conclusion. Duration: 5:45

From the classic movie The Great Race starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Natalie Wood, here is a Mancini gem featured in the memorable and climactic pie fight scene. This entertaining arrangement can be used to feature the entire clarinet section, just a few players, or even a soloist. Optional section parts are also included

This was performed was performed by the Fanfare Team of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force at the Royal Wedding 2011 (Prince William and Catherine Kate Middleton); 2. Processional. 2012 sees the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen's Coronation. As the inspiration for this work 'Processional' captures the pageantry and grandeur associated with Royal Ceremonies. Grade: Intermediate-Advanced

This loving and dreamlike work captures the undulating rhythm of a mother rocking her child to sleep. The piece was inspired by classic Rudyard Kipling: “Oh! Hush thee, my baby, the night is behind us, And black are the waters that sparkled so green. The moon, o'er the combers, looks downward to find us, At rest in the hollows that rustle between.” Magical! American Grade 4

Duration: 13'40. Tintin forms the centre of this wonderful suite. The music has originally been composed for a musical based on Tintin – The Prisoners of the Sun and reflects not only the adventurous “Indiana Jones” atmosphere, but also the characters of figures like Cuthbert Calculus. Johan de Meij’s arrangement contains a wonderful selection from the musical, in which various styles and genres meet and cross each other. This fabulous piece will appeal to young and old alike.
